Eisteddfod
The Wales YFC Eisteddfod is the only Eisteddfod where competitors can chose to compete in either English or Welsh, meaning that all members have an equal opportunity to take part on the stage.
Members compete in regional heats battling it out for a place in the Wales YFC National Eisteddfod. The Eisteddfod hosts a variety of competitions from solos and individual recitations to group competitions such as the choir. There are also many light hearted competitions such as the humorous duet and mime to music and for those who aren't who aren't so keen on performing on stage there are plenty of off stage competitions.



2011 Eisteddfod
The Wales YFC Eisteddfod which attracted competitors from all over Wales was held at the Rhyl Pavillion, Rhyl on Saturday the 19th of November, hosted by the Clwyd Federation. The event was sponsored by Denbighshire County Council.
During the day members competed in a variety of competitions including singing, recitation and humorous items to the homework competitions that included literacy, prose and art. The competitions were held throughout the day and the overall winner was the Ceredigion Federation and they took home the Mansel Charles Shield with 42 points. The Pembrokeshire Federation came second and the Montgomery Federation were third.
Winning the Eisteddfod Chair with her short story “Drych” (Mirror) was Luned Mair of Llanwennog YFC, Ceredigion. Luned, 20 is currently in her final year at Cambridge University studying psychology. She was also awarded the YFC Chair last year and in the past she has enjoyed taking part in the public speaking competitions. She thanks her Welsh teacher, Delor James, at Lampeter Comprehensive for the inspiration during her school time and since then. The Chair, sponsored by Tegni and was made by Iolo Puw, from Parc near Bala.
Winning first prize in the choir competition and taking home the Vale of Towy Cup was Uwchaled YFC from Clwyd. The choir piece this year was a special piece ‘Adre’n ôl’ (Homeward Bound) commissioned by Robat Arwyn to celebrate Wales YFC’s 75th year. Joy Cornock of Fishguard YFC, Pembrokeshire won the Ardudwy Cup for being best soloist in the music section. The Menter Iaith Sir Benfro Challenge Trophy, awarded to the best two voice party was won by Llangadog YFC, Carmarthenshire.
Catrin Davies from Cwmtirmynach YFC, Meirionnydd was the best individual in the Recitation Section and she took home the Wales YFC Cup. Hermon YFC, Pembrokeshire won the pop song competition and they were awarded the Meinir Richards Cup.
In the federation award section, Pembrokeshire took home the Dyffryn Nantlle Shield for coming out on top with the highest points tally in the Cerdd Dant section, and winning the Denbighshire Farmers Union of Wales trophy for winning the homework section were Meirionnydd. The Elonwy Phillips Trophy which is awarded to the winning Federation in the stage section was won by the Pembrokeshire Federation.
2012 Eisteddfod
The 2012 Wales YFC Eisteddfod will be held at Ysgol Bro Gwaun, Fishguard on the 17th of November 2012.
