Llyndy Scholar - Tudur Parry

October 2014

September started off quite busy as I started my new job at Llyndy, I rounded up the mountain with a group from Hafod y Llan to wean the lambs from their mothers.

Then later on in the month we gathered the sheep off the Llyndy mountain to wean the lambs. The lambs were dosed for things like worms, ticks and lice, and their tails were trimmed. We separated the male and female lambs to fatten the male lambs on better ground and I choose what ewe lambs to keep for breeding next year. At the end of the month I bought 30 yearlings from Dolgellau mart so that they are ready to go to the ram at the start of November.

Additionally I've been doing a lot of dry stone walling as part of Glastir and fixing various things as well as helping at Hafod y Llan
