WALES YFC NATIONAL EISTEDDFOD RETURNS TO LLANDUDNO

The Wales YFC National Eisteddfod hosted this year by the Eryri Federation will be returning to Venue Cymru on Saturday 18th November for the first time since 2009. The Eisteddfod will start at 10am where over 800 young people are due to compete during the course of the day.

Earlier in the month Bethan Williams, Wales YFC Eisteddfod Chair from Eryri was presented with the Chair and Crown for the Wales YFC Eisteddfod.

This year Mid Gwynedd NFU Trustees commissioned Gethin Prys a member from Ysbyty Ifan YFC and a local carpenter to construct a chair from locally sourced oak. In addition, Lowri Wyn a past member from Rowen YFC who runs a jewellery shop in Conwy was asked to produce a Crown commissioned Eryri National Park made out of silver and wool produced by her own flock of long wool sheep. The Chair will be presented to the winner of the best Poem and the Crown will be given to the member that wins the Prose competition both sections are on the theme of Treasure or a Secret.

Coverage from the day will be available on S4C from 5pm to 7:30pm followed by a live broadcast of the event from 8:30pm on S4C and BBC Radio Cymru.

On the day of the Eisteddfod the results will be posted on the Wales YFC social media websites. A full list of results will be available on the Wales YFC website following the event.
