CEREDIGION HAVE TOP MEMBERS!

The Wales YFC Member of the Year competition took place on Sunday the 18th March, 2018 where members from acorss Wales travelled to Port Talbot to compete in the prestigious competition.

After much deliberation of the panel of judges; Mr Geraint Lloyd, Mrs Diana Davies and Mr Stephen James, the title of the Senior member of the Year was awarded to Cennydd Jones from Pontsian YFC, Ceredigion.

The judges felt that Cennydd’s approach to thinking outside the box and also being able to pitch workable ideas for the future of the federation made him stand out from the other candidates. The judges also felt that all of the members competing were exceptionally passionate about the organisation and should be proud for being ambassadors towards their respective county federations.

The title of the Junior Member of the Year was awarded to Alaw Mair Jones from Felinfach YFC, also from Ceredigion. Alaw impressed all three of the judges; Mr Malcolm Thomas, Mrs Nia George and Miss Kate Miles, with her informative presentation and showing a high standard of confidence and understanding of the organisation in her interview. All three of the judges noted that all of the members were strong contenders for the title.

Dewi Parry, Chairman of the Wales YFC Competitions Committee said: “It is great to see both Junior and Senior Member winners residing from Ceredigion. Once again the competition showcased extremely high standard from all members that took part, and all members should be proud of what they have achieved. We very much look forward to working with both members over the next 12 months and welcoming them to be a part of the officer team.”

Once again JCP Solicitors sponsored the competition and we are grateful towards them for their kind sponsorship to support the federation and especially to Rory Hutchings representing the company dutring the awards ceremony.

Both the Senior and Junior Member of the Year will be ambassadors for Wales YFC during the year and will be called upon as officers of the organisation to assist during various events.
