Four Wales YFC members were chosen during the International Selection day to travel to Uganda after it was introduced into the 2018 International programme with the Federation.

Travelling with the Wales YFC International programme offers once in a lifetime opportunities for our members. The trips available are unique, and are opportunities to network across the world, as well as making friends for life.

Hannah Powell from Radnor YFC, William Boulton from Pembrokeshire YFC, Carys Richards from Carmarthenshire YFC and Gwenno Edwards from Clwyd YFC are the four lucky members who will be travelling to Uganda on the 7th of September with the International Programme and returning on the 23rd of September.

The trip to Uganda has been arranged with the Dolen Ffermio project, which gives opportunities to Ugandan communities to learn and develop skills that the Western world uses in everyday life. The group will spend two weeks in Uganda working with the project’s volunteers learning and experiencing some of Uganda’s hidden treasures, and will get an insight into the African Culture. The four members will be visiting local hospitals and farming committees as well as visiting local children at their school.

Wales YFC International Committee Chairman, Angela Evans noted; “This is a great partnership formed with Dolen Ffermio and we hope that we can offer this trip as part of the Wales YFC International Programme more frequently. I would like to wish all four of the members travelling a safe trip and look forward to hearing about their experiences when they return.”
