NEW CHAIRMAN FOR WALES YFC


Dafydd Jones from Meirionnydd YFC is the new Chairman of the Wales Federation of YFC. Elected by members at the Wales YFC’s Annual General Meeting held recently at the Old College, Aberystwyth, Dafydd will lead the organisation during the forthcoming year.


Dafydd, who has just retired as the Meirionnydd YFC County Chairman works for the family farming business in Llanfihangel y Pennant, near Tywyn.


After being elected as Chairman, Dafydd said;
“It’s an honour to be elected Chairman of the Wales Federation of YFC. I am looking forward to working with our team of enthusiastic and dedicated officers and staff to ensure that the movement will go from strength to strength. I'm also looking forward to raising the profile of the organisation within the agricultural industry and to get recognition for the work we do in supporting, training and developing future farmers."


Dafydd announced his charity of the year to be the Wales Air Ambulance and will be taking part in an across Wales tractor run during the summer of 2019. YFC Clubs and County Federation’s are also being encouraged to raise funds for the charity over the coming twelve months.


Katie Davies of the Pembrokeshire Federation was elected as Dafydd’s vice-chairman at the AGM.
