LAST DAY RESULTS FROM YFC SECTION AT THE ROYAL WELSH SHOW!

Today was the last day of competitions at the Royal Welsh Show, and the Young Farmers all came out in force to compete. Today we saw woodwork, The Retro Generation Game and the Welsh Cobs Section D Stockjudging.

Wales YFC Competitions Chairman, Katie Davies said; “It has been a fantastic week of competitions with all of the members competing to a high standard in all competitions. It was a delight to see so many members competing over the week and we are looking forward to next years Royal Welsh show. Congratulations to all of the winners, especially to Ceredigion for winning the overall trophy. “

The competing started today with the woodwork down in the forestry area, were our members were asked to create a picnic table with a wheelchair access point. We saw a high standard of competing from all of the members within the two hours they were given to complete the task.

Back at the centre we saw the Generation Game, where our younger members were asked to complete a sports related task building a tower to support a tennis ball.

Today we saw the last of the stock judging competitions, where members judged Welsh Cobs Section D’s. The competition followed the same structure as our other stock judging competitions with four age categories competing as individuals and as a team. Thank you very much ones again to the Welsh Cob and Pony Society for their support with this competition.

The Fencing competition brought the competitions of the YFC section to a close at this years Royal Welsh show. This competition again was held in the Forestry area of the show where crowds gathered to see members erect a stock proof fence where only hand tools are allowed to be used.

We would like to thank all our members for their hard work and enthusiasm during the week, and for making it another successful show for the Federation in Wales. We would also like to thank all of our sponsors as without their continued support, we would not be able to hold such a varied programme of activities for our members to enjoy, learn and gain confidence throughout the week.
