WALES YFC CONFERENCE SET TO BE INSPURATIONAL FOR THE NEXT GENERATION

Wales YFC are holding their annual Rural Affairs Conference this Saturday thanks to the generous support of Clynderwen and Cardiganshire Farmers (C.C.F Ltd).

The one-day event will be held on Saturday 12th January 2019 between 10am and 4pm at Gelli Aur College Farm, Golden Grove, Carmarthen and is open to past and present Wales YFC members.

The theme for the conference is ‘Innovation – Efficiency on the Farm’ and we hope that young farmers from all across Wales and over the border will come to listen to inspirational speakers from across the agricultural industry and beyond. The confirmed speakers are Neil Perkins, Dinas Island, Pembrokeshire; Gareth Davies, Chairman of Nuffield Wales; Jacob Anthony, Farmers Weekly Young Farmer of the Year 2018; and Jonny & Dulcie Crickmore, British Farming Awards Gold Award Winners in Dairy Innovators of the Year 2018. This year we will be holding two breakout sessions: a Farm Walk and Slurry Project Talk with Huw Davies and John Owen from Gelli Aur and a Live Animal Selection Workshop with Wyn Williams and Mathew Brown from Dunbia.

“We are thrilled to announce a line-up of highly acclaimed guest speakers from a wide range of industry sectors. The conference belonging to the next generation is focused on inspiring young farmers to grab the challenges that face the industry and make them into opportunities. We are very thankful once again to CCF for their generous support and commitment to the next generation.” Hefin Evans, Wales YFC Rural Affairs Chairman.

“Clynderwen & Cardiganshire Farmers (C.C.F Ltd) are proud to sponsor and be involved with the forthcoming Wales YFC Conference. Our hope is that this year’s theme of “Innovation - Efficiency on The Farm” will provide delegates with the vision and motivation to work towards a sustainable and profitable agriculture, producing quality products to fulfil customer-led demand”. David Evans, CCF
