Aled Harper, a member of Dyffryn Banw YFC club, Montgomeryshire was awarded with a prize of £1,000 on Tuesday 25th of July at the Royal Welsh Show as the winner of the 2017 Wales YFC Agricultural Bursary.

The award seeks to support young people who are trying to secure a future for themselves in agriculture. A panel of judges, decided that the deserving winner of the prize this year was Eifion as he showed exceptional entrepreneur skills. Eifion’s business simply started as he was mending and making farm equipment for some of the local farmers, seeing as there was a great interest in his products he went on to set up his own business designing and making all types of agricultural equipment alongside a fencing and hedge cutting contractor.

Having received the good news Eifion said;
Speaking on behalf of Wales YFC, Dafydd Jones said; “We are very pleased with the high number and high standard of entries this year. There were many deserving candidates with a winner that showed exceptional entrepreneurial skills with the development of his own business. I am very confident that Eifion’s business, ‘Easy Fencer’ will be very a successful and profitable model to other young farmers who wish to pursue this path in the future and I wish him all the luck with his business.”
