THIRD DAY RESULTS FROM YFC SECTION AT THE ROYAL WELSH SHOW!

Members from clubs all over Wales, competed for a Third day for Wales YFC at this year’s Royal Welsh Show. Today featured the much anticipated Rugby final and Tug of War Competitions.

Arwel Jones Wales YFC Chairman said; “The preparation that all members have put into this week’s competitions has been outstanding. Seeing the commitment and enthusiasm of all YFC members today makes me proud to be involved and a part of this organisation.”

The marque competitions kick started the day this morning with the Craft competition, where the members asked to create a ‘Headpiece for Ascot’ following this year’s theme of ‘Sports’. With some elaborate creations on show, members of the public were astonished to have seen the exceptional talent from such young members.

It was the day of the sheep Stock Judging this morning. The chosen Breed this year was the Suffolk, and we are grateful to the stockman that volunteered their sheep for this years competition. The four age categories worked hard in deciding their reasoning to present to the judge.

On the YFC stage today was the ‘This is your Life’ competition, this competition was in line with the weeks theme asking the members to stage a ‘this is your life’ programme about a famous Welsh sportsman or woman. Following this competition on the YFC stage was the ‘Lip-Sync Battle’, where members had the opportunity to perform a battle that would appear at a Superbowl final, half time show.

At 11:45 today we had the very competitive Tug of War competition, which brought out friendly county rivalry between our YFC Counties. This is a very competitive and popular competition at the show for the YFC. The boys and girls competitions took place today and the Junior mixed competition will follow this evening to close our competitions for the day.

After two days of first round games, today was the Final of the YFC Rugby 7’s competition which took place in the cattle ring, and as usual it brought large crowds to the sides of the cattle ring cheering on their respective teams.
