YFC Officers

Wales YFC is ran by various committees on behalf of the wider membership. A chairman and vice-chairman lead each committee and work with the relevant staff member to ensure that the Wales YFC programmes of work are delivered.

Aim during the year

To promote the YFC movement and training opportunities that are available for members. It's important that members not only know what training opportunities are available, but also how they can benefit their YFC and personal development.

Favourite thing about YFC

My favourite thing about YFC would be the opportunities that are available are one in a million and you won't find them anywhere else. I love watching YFC members develop and improve themselves through taking part in young Farmers. Every YFC member I know would not be the person they are today without YFC.

Rural Affairs committee Chairman

Marc Jones, Berriew YFC, Montgomery

Aim during the year

To continue the good work so far put into the YFC Lamb Initiatve and to get the points of view of young farmers in Wales over to policy makers in the Welsh Assembly

Favourite thing about YFC

Meeting new people and taking part in the county rallies followed by a good night out!

Rural Affairs committee Vice-Chairman

Jonathan Williams, Presteigne YFC, Radnor

Aim during the year

My aim as vice chairman will be to work along with Kay in the YFC office to support Marc in
his year as chairman of the Rural Affairs committee.

Whilst representing members views at all times, I would like to see the rural affairs
committee continue to raise its profile within YFC and the wider rural community so that
the voice of young rural workers is heard loudly.

Building on the huge success of the lamb scheme I think there are great opportunities for
young farmers across Wales to co-operate and work together for collective gain.

Favourite thing about YFC

My favourite thing about YFC is the people who make it, the members. The membership is really
diverse and getting out and meeting them socially or in competitions is what YFC is all about.
