Safety at the Village

Safety Awareness Information

We want everyone who is staying at the Young People's Village to have a safe but yet fun time with us. Wales YFC works hard to ensure everyone's saftey and we encourage you to read the following information to understand what is in place at this years event.

  • No glass allowed on site.
  • BBQ's are not permitted due to the prolonged hot weather.
  • On site taxi rank.
  • 24hr YPV Office on the Young People’s Village site.
  • CCTV throughout the Village
  • First Aid Centre on site. Improved resources in the town of Builth Wells through the support of the Welsh Ambulance Service.
  • Phone Charging Facilities.
  • Festoon Lighting around the whole site of the Young People's Village.
  • ‘Green Route’: This is path from the Builth Wells town to the Royal Welsh Showground, Penmaenau Farm and campsite and the Young People’s Village. The path will be clearly sign-posted from the town to the various venues new finger-post signs.

  • Details about the route will be highlighted on a new local map and will be featured along with other show visitor information via the Royal Welsh Show app, available to download for free from the App Store and Google Play.
  • Existing public footpaths in the area will not be closed during the event and stewards will be on hand at night to help direct show visitors from the town to the venues.
  • A new temporary fence, funded by the Royal Welsh Agricultural Society, will be erected in the town of Builth Wells along the River Wye to help improve safety. The fence will be put in place before the show and removed after the event.
